The opening weekend of Classics racing did not disappoint. We walked away with our first WorldTour podium of the season at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad as Sep Vanmarcke raced aggressively to put himself in good company at the front of the race. The Belgian came to the line with world champion Peter Sagan (Bora Hansgrohe) and Olympic champion Greg Van Avermaet (BMC). Vanmarcke finished third in the three-up sprint, and while we were proud of his efforts, he understandably lamented what could have been. Solid start that fosters hope of bigger results to come.
