Tom Danielson rode to overall victory this week in Utah. Capping his effort with a dramatic win at Powder Mountain on stage 4, Tom showed that he has returned to the form that won the race overall in 2013.

Tom wrote us after the race:

“I knew I had good form coming into the race. It’s really special to come across the line with so many fans (in Park City). So much work goes into it. All of us athletes have been through so much, so when it all comes together like it did this week, we all understand what it means. It is special.”

After his victory in stage 4, Tom wrote:

“Today was really a special day. The team has believed in me from day one here and they really turned themselves inside out today. Ben, Alex, Phil, Janier, Gavin, and Thomas each played a critical role in today’s victory. When I arrived on the final climb I knew what I had to do and no one was going to stop me. It’s days like today that make all the suffering and hardships worth it and I am so happy to share today with my best friends who are also my teammates. Winning a stage like that after your teammates gut themselves for you like that, there’s no better feeling in the world. We were under a lot of pressure. We have a young team here and lot of guys who just came here from the Tour. The team really stepped up today,” Danielson said after donning the race leader’s jersey. “Hats off to the Tour of Utah for putting together a really complex stage, and throwing a lot at us”
