We continue further south as the roads begin to turn up in Stage 8 after departing the quaint town of Tomblaine along the banks of La Meurthe.

As you can see in the profile above there is flat terrain past the intermediate Sprint line, until the 134.5 km mark, when Col de la Croix des Moinats begins. It’s a 7.6 km climb with a 6% average grade.

But it’s the next little ramp which may put some pain in rider’s some legs, at only 3 km in length Col de Grosse Pierre doesn’t sound difficult but riders will feel the long stretch of 16% grade.

And finally, there’s a 10.8% 1.8 km climb up to the finish line in Gérardmer La Mauselaine.
